Criminal Law

Criminal Law

Criminal law is a system of law concerned with the punishment of those who are guilty to commit crimes. The laws seek to protect public safety. The crimes are graded as either misdemeanors or felonies. Misdemeanors are a lesser version of felonies, such as vandalism or stealing low-cost items (petty theft). Usually, the punishments are fines and/or jailing sentences of a year or less. Felonies are for sure worse than misdemeanors. They includes but not limited to: Murder, robbery, and other serious crimes. The consequences are serious for the victim and criminal. Prison is usually the outcome of serious felonies going through trial.
The most common type of crime is crime against poverty. This includes and isn't limited to stealing a bike, shoplifting, identity theft, and setting fires can be examples of crime against poverty.
